Noquemanon 2024 Ski Marathon Friday and Saturday January 26-27

January in Marquette turned into a surprise month for us Yoopers. It was mostly warm! The Noquemanon Ski Marathon, January 26-27, was shortened, but it still took place, ending at the Noquemanon Trailhead in Forestville.
The U.P. 200 Sled Dog races for February have been canceled. Lack of snow is tough on our winter sports and tourism.
On the bright side for us, warm weather and light snowfall saves a lot of money on heat expenses and plow bills.
We can still walk our trails--just no need for snowshoes or skis--not now anyway. But winter isn't over yet.

A favorite part of January was watching football games, especially the Detroit Lions coached by Motor City Dan Campbell (MCDC) winning their division. January was an exciting month of football.
The Lake Superior Art Association invited its members to submit artwork for a February "Winter Charm" Exhibit at Peter White Public Library in Marquette by February 8. Cozy Cabin (above) is one of Todd's new works. It is an acrylic painting on matte paper. The painting, prints, and cards are available at Todd's secure online store. Take good care, --Mike
